Some students did not receive notification via text or email regarding the incident. What is being done to ensure students receive future notifications?
Why did the campus hold multiple large events before the suspect was apprehended?
What is the campus doing to prevent this from happening again?
Is residence life evaluating their policies after the events of Friday, February 16?

Safety Questions

Is there a documented policy for the procedures police follow when a student has expressed and reported concerns for their safety? If yes, is it publicly available and where? If not, is it being created?
When a staff member hears a concern about student safety, what steps are they required to take?
Should students report all concerns directly to campus police?
When a report is made to police about concern for student safety, what steps do the police take to investigate?
How are you improving security around the residence halls? Are there cameras around campus? Are you putting more cameras around campus?

Residence Life Questions

What happens when a student reports a concern for their safety from their roommate?
What procedures do residence life staff have to follow to facilitate room changes in the event of students being concerned about their safety?
How is it decided which issues go to the police and which go through the student conduct process?
How much access do students’ keycards give them?
How are residence life policies enforced?
Who can students go to for help with their roommates if they feel unsafe or are having serious issues (re: drinking, smoking, drugs)?

Why were parents contacted so late?
Why doesn’t the university explain exactly what happened leading up to the tragedy?
